A major headline jumping off a recent advertisement
in an opportunity magazine reads: "97% Of All
Network Marketers Are Committing FINANCIAL
SUICIDE. Are YOU?"
 
Is this supposed to be shocking news? It may be for
the outsider to network marketing, the newcomer, the
uninformed, or perhaps those networkers who wear
blindfolds or rose-colored glasses. But this is not
startling news to the network marketing veteran.
 
Whether financially successful or not, professionals,
perceptive networkers, and those with experience in
the industry know that the vast majority of network
marketers don't make any money. Disturbing?
Disgraceful? Awful? It is! But . . . let's change it!!
 
What a shame for a major business opportunity
industry to provide so little for so many.
 
Finally, after some five decades of history, we
have learned that it doesn't have to be the way
it has been. For several years, there have been
many concerned professionals who’ve questioned
established paradigms of network marketing. With
thoughtful insight and proper strategy, they are
reshaping how people in and out of the network
marketing industry are thinking, talking, and
doing business.
 
This direction, this movement, and this dedication
to the powerful concepts of network marketing and
free enterprise are making perhaps the most
significant and outstanding contribution to a
dynamic industry that certainly needs a serious
image adjustment and not just temporary and frequent
facade changes. The future of network marketing
is awesome, and because of Trend 90, particularly

Most adults in America have seen, read about, and
far too many have experienced the loss of jobs in

This elimination of jobs has been an ongoing
trend for a couple decades. Not all trends are
negative. The industrial trend, the plastic
trend, the computer trend, the franchising
trend, the home based business trend have all
dramatically and positively altered lives.
 
Recognize and take advantage of a trend and get rich.
"The $300 Solution"
 
Randolph Byrd wrote an insightful Upline® Special
Report in 1996. He was discussing issues of how
to keep people involved in a network marketing
organization. Specifically, it was his people in
his organization. Most of us know that 80 to 90
percent attrition rates are the norm. That's the
average trend. We also know that some 90 percent
or more of the participants in network marketing
are part time networkers. So, what's "The $300
Solution?"
 
Randolph Byrd writes, "There are two things which
prevent most Network Marketers from achieving
success: (1) They don't make $300 per month quickly
enough, and (2) Their downline distributors don't either!
 
Surprised? You're not alone. But the truth is that $300
is the income-earning threshold below which there is no
Network Marketing Sales organization - because there are
simply no Networkers to make one. People who make
$300 a month in this business stick around. People who
don't - don't. It's that simple."
 
So, how do you apply the principles of "The $300
Solution" to your business? Make certain that
you're in a program in which the majority of the
people you prospect, recruit, and sponsor can
make $300 as quickly as possible - and the
people that they prospect, recruit, and sponsor
can do the same thing. This is where Trend 90 helps
so many frustrated, but hopeful people.
 
WHAT IS TREND 90?
 
Trend 90 is a trend of changing compensation
plans that dramatically favor part-time network
marketing participants. Compensation plans have
been evolving for years, but significantly, now they

A MATTER OF COMMON SENSE
 
The win-win philosophy is simply a matter of
common sense. There are three distinct groups
that must be financially rewarded for network
marketing to be successful as an industry - the
company owners and employees, the full-time
professionals (heavy hitters), and last but not
least, part-time networkers. Common sense
suggests that this be a win-win-win situation
between these three groups. One problem:
common sense is not so common!
 
But let's think about it. We know that part timers
want to make money and the industry is made up
of about 90 percent part timers. Wouldn't the heavy
hitters want the part timers to make money? Prudent
ones should, knowing that the vast majority of the
people they work with and will work with are
part timers.
 
The company owners should want both heavy hitters
and part timers to be financially successful. That
would mean much lower attrition rates. We know
that it is easier to keep a distributor than it is to
prospect and recruit a new one.
 
John Addy, former network marketing corporate
executive and owner states, "Wise corporate
executives and advisors, as well as sensitive
heavy hitters, embrace the Trend 90 philosophy

flow. Let's get the part timers making money, talking
about making money, and others promoting the fact that
part timers are making money, and the integrity
and image of network marketing will quickly
change for good!

been designed for the full time heavy hitters and the
company owners to make big bucks!

If our part time people can develop a positive cash flow
in their first 90 to 120 days, then we can have them with
us forever. And even though full timers make money with
compressed compensation plans, they do not make
money at the expense of the part timers.
 
The concept is a beautiful win-win-win relationship.
Compressed compensation plans are great for network
marketing because until the part timers can make
respectable and consistent income, this industry won't
reach the heights that it's capable of!
